Your Homebase Reviews
Mrs Jean Rish: 1/5 Stars 02/10/2016 Lack of Wheelchairs at Bodmin Cornwall store After a great deal of difficulty getting to Home base because of all the A30 roadworks and all the roads closed, I eventually arrived with my disabled friend who can only walk a few steps, to be told they did not have any wheelchairs and haven't done for a long time. The last one (only one?) broke down and hasn't ever been repaired. My friend had every intention of spending quite a lot of money on his kitchen and bathroom, but has now gone elsewhere. This is absolutely appalling, what are disabled people supposed to do? We have never had such a thing happen to us in Tescos or Morrisons or any of the big stores. I very much would like to hear back from you about what you intend to do in your stores and if I don't hear back I will take this further Homebase has not yet responded. Lorraine Wright: 1/5 Stars 06/06/2016 Settees paid for and cancelled 3 weeks before delivery Homebase advertise big sale on furniture/ settees Ordered 2 sofas - order confirmed / money taken / delivery date given and confirmed 3 times . 3 weeks before delivery order cancelled as they had apparently no stock . Hundreds of us affected . Complain to Customer Service as had decorated etc to accommodate new settees - basically told tough and referred to terms and conditions . Some were apparently offered alternatives , but Homebase would not answer any questions about the criteria needed to be offered this . Advisors giving everyone scripted non commital answers and in some cases removing comments and people from their Facebook page . They sat on a lot of money for weeks without telling their customers they had no intention of supplying their goods ordered - in some cases people haven't been told their furniture had been cancelled just refunded in their bank . This needs exposing and Homebase needs to do something to compensate their unhappy customers . Homebase has not yet responded. Janice Stevens: 1/5 Stars 28/04/2016 selling products at reduced prices, then say don't have any yet still displaying them, false adverti Went into store to buy two new beds, seen two lovely beds, which I wanted to purchase, when asking the customer service guy, in which he reply oh no wee don't have any of those, wee have just been taken over by Australian company, if you don't have the product for sale take it off display, false advertising, then when we walked off , another lady was enquiring about one off the same beds as we did, also feeling disappointed, just poor service around, in total these beds were 800 pound, I will take my customer else were, appalling customer service, and staff hadn't got a clue what they were doing, just come away from the store feeling deflated. !!! Homebase has not yet responded. Lisa Barnett 22/12/2015 Homebase error but we pay the price I purchased a kitchen from homebase on the Aug bank holiday sale, as I was in the process of buying my first home. The salesman said "don't worry we won't deliver until you are ready and if things go wrong you can get a full refund" so I went ahead and paid for what I had ordered. Once the house was mine my Father went round and told me that I had wrongly measured one wall, so on the 10th Nov I went back into the store and explained what I had done, they told me not to worry and that they would cancel a 600mm unit but would have to raise a new order with a 400mm unit and some other bits I needed and that it would all be delivered together, So I went ahead and paid for the 400mm unit and the other things I needed. On the 9th Dec the original order turned up but not the 400mm base unit or anything else from the order placed on 10th Nov. So, my Father went into the store on 12th Dec where he was told that they hadn't processed the order, they then tried to say that our payment hadn't gone through, so after checking bank statements we could see the money was taken by homebase on 12th Nov. The store then admitted they had forgotten to process the second order and they would do it right away. They had had our money for an entire month without processing the order. By now I had kitchen fitters, tilers, floorers and decorators all booked in to do work. none of which could be done. I am currently in rented accommodation and am due to move out and into my new home, which I am now unable to do. They messed up my order but have done nothing to rectify their mistake. I am 7 months pregnant and have a 1 yr old son and will be homeless as I don't currently have any kitchen in this house or floors so I cannot move in with my young son. My Mum then gets on twitter where she is told as I was, mid Jan for delivery but this doesn't help me now! My Father has called the store manager several times, he promised my Father last Friday 18th Dec he had found a way to get these units for us on Monday but we can now see it was just a ploy to shut us up. My Father asked the store manager and head office to send these items by courier which didn't seem unreasonable considering this situation has only been brought about by their error, but they don't want to know.
