Complaint against InterRent

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding my experience with a car hire in Brindisi through the company InterRent (Booking Ref: IT710361040). I made an internet booking for the car hire online on the 8th of June 2017 (Brindisi Airport from 10th to 17th of June 2017). I paid 107,06 Euro including insurance. Unfortunately, InterRent has charged me £244.50 for an additional insurance policy I didn't buy. At InteRent desk nobody has offered me any additional policy and I didn’t agree to additional charges. When I came back home from holiday I realised that additional £244.50 was debited from my account. I have contacted InteRent via phone and email but they said this case is closed for them. When I asked for documentation with a policy number and an insurance provider they weren’t able to provide it to me. I think it is not right and against the law. I am dissatisfied with the service InterRent has provided and I know my experience is not an isolated case. I would appreciate your acknowledgment of my concern as soon as possible, along with an offer of resolution within 7 days of this correspondence being received. Please reply to my aspokesman said email account as I would like to keep all of my communications in my personalised complaints case file.
