Dad's complaint against Kia Motors
Kia alloy wheel discolouration
Complaint against Kia Motors
I recently purchased a Kia Sportage - 2013 model - from a reputable used car dealer in Glasgow. The vehicle has diamond cut alloys, the look of which are spoiled by a yellow discolouration which I believe to be salts coming out of the alloy due to the material quality. Kia warranty excludes damages from corrosion due to stone chips, and also mechamical damages, plus anything outside of their control. I believe the quality of the products and materials installed on their vehicles is well within their control, however Kia are refusing to accept that this is a warranty item. I am a marine engineer of 40 plus years standing and I know a "little" about materials and corrosion as the sea is a very harsh environment to all types of metals. I am more than happy to have a completely independent expert examine the wheels, and be bound by their impartial findings. All we want is the quality we thought we had purchased -second hand as it may be. Love the car, hate the service and would love to know if I am alone in this issue.
