Charged twice for a car rental, Can't get a response

Complaint against Avis

I made a booking 19382692GB0 on avis.com for a vehicle for 3 days in NYC, I then noticed I had been charged twice so I contacted them by phone. I was told they would refund me the difference and I should see it refunded after midnight. It wasnt, I called again the next day only to be told they had canceled my reservation and would email me when we got off the phone (Spoke to Mesi) Of course, I was not emailed. I called again and was told I would receive a call later that evening. Again I was not. I have tried every email I can find, I've tried tweeting, live chat. The only option I have left is to go to their head office?? I travel in just one week and they have maxed out my credit card! All I want is my money back!
