[LAPSED] 150 euro for cleaning the car

Complaint against Goldcar

Hi, We rented a car for three weeks in Spain. At the airport we were encouraged to take out full insurance and we paid 389 euro. We were told this covered everything. When we returned the car it did need to be hoovered. We have rented a number of times and we have never been charged to clean the car once we had full insurance. I spoke to Goldcar and they said it was for extensive cleaning. I am so annoyed. The car was good value at first but once we paid the extra insurance and cleaning. It cost more than any other company. I would avoid this goldcar if I was renting a car again. I am so sorry I did not listen to the reviews about Goldcar. Please listen to other reviews and avoid this company.

Hi Kathy, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Our cover protects the car against damages, theft, any kind of scratches, windows, etc. However, the cleaning is something that is never covered by a coverage. In your case, as the cleaning charge is so high, we believe the interior was in a very bad state. We always take pictures and send them to the client. Thank you. Regards, Victoria R
