I was at dpd depot to collect my delivery and was told if I had two IDs exact words and I said yes. Fast forward, and I was told by the staff attending to me that I would not be able to because my drivers licence did not show my delivery address. Luckily, I had a bill in my car with my current address. Expecting my Driver Licence to be handed back to me and the passport and Utility bill use as proof of ownership, the man held on to all three items. At this point he had my passport, drivers license, and my utility bill and he began to scan all items in to his company's (DPD) data base. When I asked him to stop and hand me over my ID, he only did this after scanning my documents. When asked him why he had to he was not misusing my data, he told me that it was company policy. My question is why does DPD need to scan an many ID's rather than the two they advise customers. When i asked to speak with a manager of the depot, the response I got was this was the company policy. So I say this, bearing in mind the climate of big corporations losing individual private data, why is DPD collecting scans of Drivers licenses when it does not bear the delivery address, even when I had giving my Passport and my bank statements. Secondly, the employee on completion of the scan, walked off to without giving me the fragile parcel I had sign for. Leaving another employee to hand over my fragile parcel, not before it was dropped to the floor, on three different occasions, right in front of me. This I most say has got the worst customer experience I have seen. disgusted by the culture in this DPD depot.
