Complaint about House of Bath

My elderly mother purchased a hottie wheat bag that you heat in the microwave and her neice heated it up for her and very hot liquid leaked out of it. When my mother phoned to complain it was treated as a refund, so I wrote a letter on her behalf stating that she could have been badly burnt, and she should have had an apology at least, preferably a compensation voucher. The letter, so far, has not been answered, leaving us with concerns about customer service and whether they actually care about their customers once they have bought a product.
