Complaint about DPD

We ordered a Bugaboo Cameleon pushchair last weekend which was supposed to be delivered by DPD this week. As both my partner and I work, we had opted for the "delivery at a nearby collection store" option. On Wednesday, we received an email saying the parcel was ready for collection. So we both go to the store after work. Not only was it the most unreliable and unprofessional store ever, but there was only half of the delivery there, which we hadn't been informed of as we assumed it would all come in one piece. So we ended up leaving the store not knowing whether the suspicious owners had stolen our parcel or whether there had just been a mistake. Following this, my husband receives a message on Friday telling him that our parcel will be delivered between 12 and 2pm. So he rushes home from work, waits until after 2. Nothing comes. He calls the customer service and is told that this is an automated message and that the delivery is actually taking place on Sunday. Now on Sunday, the delivery was supposed to come between 9am and 5pm. Great way to spend your Sunday! So I call the customer service to ask whether they know approximately when the parcel will arrive. They had no idea. So we ended up spending our whole Sunday waiting at home. At 5 tonight, the parcel has still not arrived, and we haven't received any call, warning or apology. I try calling but the customer service is now closed. When I try tracing my parcel on the internet, it now says the parcel will arrive between 9am and 22pm. Seriously? How unprofessional is this? Do you really expect people to spend their Sunday at home waiting for you? And not even being sure whether you are going to turn up or not. This is just so disrespectful and unprofessional and considering the quite unforeseen amount of negative comments I wonder how this company is still managing to keep doing business in the UK. Worst delivery experience ever, I am actually thinking of contacting the press about this.
