I purchased a Zanussi carpet hoover on the 21ST SEPTEMBER 2015 - it carried a years warranty. On the evening of Tuesday 23RD August 2016 it literally exploded with a huge flash. a very loud bang and a cloud of black dust which marked my carpet and wall. I was terrified it was going to go on fire as there seemed to be a red glow from underneath and immediately put it out on to the Patio. I called the Zanussi helpline the following day and I was informed that due to the Bank Holiday it would not be picked up until the 31ST AUGUST (Today) I was instructed to wrap it in a bin bag and given a Reference Number to attach. Today I cancelled arrangements I had made and waited from 8AM - still no collection at 3PM and I called them to be told after listening to music for 15 MINUTES that it would not be uplifted till tomorrow and it would take another SEVEN TO TEN DAYS before I would be told what was happening re the hoover. To say I was annoyed is an understatement and I informed them that I would leave the item in my Porch for to be collected. I was told I couldn't do that - a signature was required. I informed them that this was most inacceptable and to call me by 4PM with a more reasonable alternative. Needless to say I did not receive a phone call. I find this Customer Care HORRENDOUS - the machine was under warranty and is no doubt unrepairable, so why could they not supply me with a new machine - and they would have had the other one returned. As it is I don't know what is going to happen as i simply cant spend another day at home waiting. With the time this is all going to take, in the meantime I shall have to go out and purchase another hoover.
