Complaint about Goldcar

I rented a car from Rome fiumicino at goldcar. After waiting 30 min at the desk the receptionist went on to explain the conditions. Everything normal so far. At the time to take the deposit she started with a sale speech to sell me their full insurance coverage. When she saw I was not buying it she tried intimidation highlighting what the costs would be, how much was the deposit 1400euros ( much higher than any other companies) and this went on for 20mins. At the end she gave me the car keys and told me to be ready for the car inspection. Now other people that were bullied into buying the extra insurance ( an extra 200 euros) did not have to do that. I had to point every single defect some were left as really superficial. The car drove well during the 11 days of rental, no issue there. When I return the car, on the inspection the guy started pointing out some Colored marks on the doors and a tiny mark not even a dent. I checked the Colored mark and just by scrubbing it a little manage to remove it. He found another one and marked it down. I protested saying that you just need to rub it and it goes. The other mark was so light that he told me it just need a big of polish so should cost around 50 euros. Not happy with that but when you have your flight coming there is no time to argue. I was refer to another girl on the desk and she presented me with an accident form. What accident form? I did not have any accident?.? Anyway I got back home and after 3 days I receive an email thanking me for the rental and a charge of 480 euros with the pictures attached. Even on the pictures it is hard to see the marks!! I send letter of complaint asking for details of the job done and full refund. The reply came back saying that the charge were made as per contract. I have protested again asking for an invoice for the repairs done.As everyone know we can be sure that none of the repairs are done but they certainly charge an enormous amount of money. The way I was bullied and all the other customers to buy their insurance is borderline fraudulent. But the way they make sure to maximise on the car defect is like a con. Stay away from Goldcar. Surely the last time I rent with them

Hello Cedric, Our agents will charge the damage found on the car as per Annex I found in our T&C's https://www.goldcar.es/tc/. Our cars are fixed by our agents so we do not issue invoices of the actual repair. The customer service team has investigated this case in hand with our office manager and I'm afraid the charges apply. Thanks. Regards, Victoria R. Goldcar Representative
