Complaint about Hotpoint

I registered my dryer earlier on in the year. I have only used my dryer twice since the issues began. It's lucky that we have had good drying weather as I have dried on my washing line although before the weather got better I have made numerous trips to the launderette to dry clothes. I had a call from hotpoint and now an engineer is coming on Friday to modify it. My problem is (and I have tried to call) that I have now been put off even using this dryer and can't see myself using it. I would prefer the piece of mind to get a new one but have not been given the option to purchase a new one. I don't believe I should pay for a new fault free model as I thoroughly believe the replacement should not cost. How can I get this model replaced?
