Complaint about Carpetright

I am writing to you on behalf of my parents who have purchased a "Lakeside 4M 150 Red Stripe Carpet". Their order number is: 0001111039699 and the order was placed on 3rd September 2016. Delivery was scheduled for 29th September 2016 and my mother took the day off work to be available to receive the carpet. On the day of delivery, your staff made a telephone call to my mother stating that they "had received the wrong carpet and will have to re-order the carpet and will call once it has been received." At this point, my mother was already at home having made arrangements to take the day off. Firstly, could you explain why the phone call was made so late to inform my parents that Carpet Right had messed up the order - despite it being placed 26 days beforehand. Secondly, can we have this order fast-tracked as it has now been 6 days and we still have not received an update on when the correct carpet will be delivered. I look forward to receiving your response and to how this matter can be compensated for the day's takings lost by my mother, which will now need to happen a second time when the carpet is actually delivered.
