Cancellation of membership and threatening letters from Harlands

Complaint about Xercise4Less

My son registered with this gym on the £9.99 per month subscription, due to college/work commitments he wasn't getting full use of his membership so he sent an email as advised and cancelled his membership and direct debit. That's when the threatening letters started to arrive from Harlands telling him if he didn't respond by a certain date which Btw had already passed he would incur further charges. I called Harlands and told them he was not in arrears as he waited until the direct debit had been taken before he cancelled the membership the apologised and said he wasn't in arrears. Today I receive another threatening letter from Harlands saying he is in arrears and has incurred further charges what a joke really annoyed. Phoned Harlands who said they have not had notification form xercise4less that his membership has been cancelled, found the original cancellation on my email and getting back in touch with them. My son is 17 he doesn't need this at his age. What a joke of a company, they pride themselves on core values customer service being one of them I don't think so. Yes they are different from other gyms, they rip you off.
