On 3 Jan 17 I booked two return economy tickets online to fly from Heathrow to Brussels on SN2104 at 06.50 on 15 Jan 2017. They were £170.30 each. I was taking my Son to the Brussels Motor Show. The return flight was on the same day at 16.45 Six days after booking the economy seats (on 9 Jan 17) I went online again to buy another return ticket as my other Son now wanted to come with us. As websites often do, it showed only 3 economy seats left. I quickly filled in all the details in order to buy one, but before I could finish it told me the flight was now Sold Out. In a panic I called the airline in Belguim to be told that there were no Economy seats left BUT there was still one left in Business Class, but I'd have to go back online to buy it. I went through the whole process again entering my details as fast as possible and managed to buy it. Unfortunately it was £562.70...over 3 times more expensive. I had to pay it as I couldn't let my Son down by telling him he couldn't come with us. So here's the thing....upon boarding the flight I was shocked to see it barely half full. There were over 100 empty seats in Economy and Business. I spoke to the cabin crew who were shocked that I'd been made to buy an expensive Business Class ticket when the flight was so empty. I was furious at having been conned by the airline and its booking system. I took a photo as evidence of all the empty seats and would consider instructing a lawyer to prevent this Scam happening to anyone else and to get my money back.
