Dear sirs, I would request your assistance in dealing with an issue Mr P* Donaghy, my 84 year old grandfather has with Virgin Media. He has been a customer of Virgin, with a TV and Internet package for nearly 4 years at **,Swindon, a property he shared with his daughter. Mr Donaghy suffers from chronic pulmonary obstructive disease and late last year was advised by his doctor that his rather damp residence in Clays close ,being an older, less well ventilated property, could be hampering his health. Mr Donaghy has recently moved to a newer house , ** ,Swindon, and wanted to take the Virgin media services with him, unfortunately this is an area not serviced by Virgin so through no fault of his own he was unable to do so. Mr Donaghy was informed by a Virgin call center operator, on speakerphone with other persons present, that if his daughter continued with the service in another name that there would be no cancellation fee. However he is now being chased for a rather large cancellation fee of £88 which he should not be liable for and cannot afford to pay. Would you be able to assist my grandfather in this matter? as it seems very cold of Virgin to pursue an elderly infirm pensioner in this way. As Mr Donaghy's sole carer, I have tried to reason with Virgin on his behalf with no success . The account number with Virgin is (can be given on request) I do hope you can help.
