Complaint about Xercise4Less
A few years back I set up a membership for my mother's Christmas as a gift. Last may I cancelled the account online. She then received a debt letter from Harland's. I emailed the gym last June to try and resolve the situation. She then was hounded by letters and phonecalls from debt collectors with amounts over £200. I spoke to the debt collectors who asked me to send over proof I had contacted the club which I did multiple times and they denied receiving them even after I resent screenshots of the original emails!I contacted the East Kibride club and explained the situation and the girl I spoke to was excellent and explained as I had cancelled the direct debit it had made the account go into default and had told me to ignore the debt letters and email with a copy of the original email. Which I did. She also explained I would have an admin fee to pay but it would not be anywhere near the £200. My mother hadn't heard anything in months and has just recently received another debt letter and phonecall from another debt company. They had contacted my 80year old gran for my mother's contact details which is an absolute shambles given my mother has never been connected to her address and she was not even aware of the situation however she panicked when a man phoned asking for her details. I contacted East Kilbride club again to be told that they actually can't do anything from their end and I'd need to speak to head office. I have been backwards and forwards with xercise4less and numerous debt collectors to no avail. It was set up in the East Kilbride branch.
