Complaint about Xercise4Less

Signed a rolling monthly gym contract at Hamilton in South Lanarkshire for flexibility, I didnt ask for copy of this contract and never received a copy. I cancelled my membership 3 months later using their online form and provided 30 days noticed which I was advised to do by staff at the gym. I received no confirmation after online form was filled out. I have now started receiving letters from Harlands (6 weeks later) demanding money and penalties for canceling my d/d. Xercise4less have now stated I signed a 12 month contract and should have provided 'evidence' for reason to leave. I have requested a copy of my contract but currently do not have avy no proof to fight them.
