Complaint about Xercise4Less
I signed up with xercise4less last June. The same day I signed up online I received a call about qualifying for a discount due to where I worked so I'd basically be paying off peak prices for full membership. I will start off by saying that I did read the T&C but did not see anything about a contract (12 month) but that is my fault. I was informed by a member of staff to cancel this one so they could set up a new one so regardless of me not reading properly this account was successfully closed down. After doing this I then set up another one, VIA TELEPHONE, where I took out extra packages etc. Nowhere in this telephone call was I told it was a 12 month contract which, regardless of me reading or not, I should've been informed because it was completely different. I was told I'd receive my refund for the first sign up as they'd take the joining fee off me. I have still not received this. Every month I'd call or say to a member of staff and they assured me they'd get into it. They didn't. In November 2016 I told them if I didn't receive my money within a month I was cancelling my DD. December came, I spoke to the bank, they assured me everything would be fine. I am now receiving letters from Harlands with £25 & £35 charges. After calling them 4 times they told me they can do nothing about it and I'd have to call the gym I joined so I did this. I was once again assured things would get sorted. Now though, I am recieving letters from a debt collecting company who have added charges of nearly £70!!!!! I am furious and have passed all these details onto my lawyer and will persue this further if needed. It is absolutely atrocious the way I have been treated.
