Complaint about Domestic & General
Following your engineers visit earlier this week, it was stated that my washing machine had finally given up the ghost and had to be replaced. This cover was taken out in 2009 and in the last 8 years I have only had two engineer visits to correct faults to both the washing machine and the fridge freezer, which were both rectified. When I rang to arrange the replacement I asked the question as to the removal of the old machine and the fitting of the new machine, and was informed at the time, that this would be done. At no time was I informed that this would involve a charge. The new washing machine was delivered this morning, and the driver informed me that he hadn't been told to remove the old appliance and fit the new one. So on a bank holiday week end, I have been left with a washing machine parked in the middle of my kitchen. Being a retiree I have not got the strength and ability to fit this and remove the old appliance. Had I had known that there would have been charges involved, I would have considered it, but was not informed. I rang this morning and spoke to customer care and she referred me to your terms and conditions. I reiterated that she was ignoring my previous comments and suggested that she listened to the transcript of my original call, to no avail. I have paid this every month and have more than paid for this machine over the years. I instructed her to cancel the agreement, which she immediately agreed to. Customer Care. you don't know the meaning of it.
