Complaint about Currys PC World
I bought a laptop at the Guildford store 2 weeks ago. I paid for the set up and for 5 years back up service through KnowHow. The computer was going to be ready within a few days, they would let me know. ! week later I had to go into the store to see if it was ready (no telephone numbers were useful or being answered). It wasn't ready, would be shortly, they would ring. They didn't, I called in again, it was ready, "Sorry no-one rang you". I bought the 5 year back up service, paid up front. But to register and implement it you have to provide a credit card number to be used IN 5 YEARS TIME. No mention of this by the salesman when he sold me the service. I refused to provide this, can't therefore register. Went to the store to get a refund of the service, was told I had to do it on line. I rang the on line number, they said it had to be done in store. I was still in store, so gave telephone to them and they grudgingly accepted they had to do the refund in store. Then the manager said that although the 5 year back up service was shown separately on the order and the invoice, it was not a separate item but had been bundled in with other things and couldn't be refunded. Can I be bothered suing? This place is awful.
