Complaint about Easylife

I have ordered a couple of items from Easylife in the past, and have used my bank card for payment. Last week, I receive a cold call from Safe2Motor, regarding savings and services for car repairs. I understood they were representing Easylife, and I agreed for them to send me further information. Letter/voucher arrived a couple of days later, informing me that £1.99p had been debited from my bank account. Unless cancellation occurred during the 'cooling off' period, I would then be debited a further £59.99p. I cancelled this 'membership' immediately, and to be fair to Safe2Motor, have received a very polite reply to my email, and they have reimbused the £1.99p. However, my grouse is that Easylife had no right to pass on my bank details to anyone else, and certainly not without my permission first. Surely this breeches the Data Protection Act? I shall be writing to Easylife, requesting that I want nothing more to do with them, and to delete my bank details. This must not happen again, and I urge any Easylife customers to be vigilant.
