My elderly mother called the service to obtain a hospital number so that she could change an appointment following recent nerve damage, and was asked if she would like to be connected. She of course said yes. At no point was there a mention of the charge to do this. Had there been then my mother would not have continued with the call. She ended up being on the call for about 16 minutes, taking into account the time it took to actually Speak to someone. The bill is in my name and I was flabbergasted to discover that this call ended up costing me nearly £70! All other services have to be transparent when it comes to their charges, how can you be expected to pay for something when the cost has not been made clear to you? It's absolutely disgusting. At the very least they should inform you of how much the call will cost if they connect you straight through. I am seeking a refund
