Complaint against Yodel

I ordered a bookshelf from Argos, paying for next day delivery as I needed the item as soon as possible but was unable to carry the weight of it myself. For three days in a row, I waited at home for the package to arrive, tracking it online, only to see at the end of the day that it had been returned to the depot, claiming that there was no one home and 'no access to the property.' On the second day, I left a note on the postbox explaining that the package could be left at the gate, and providing my phone number, so when they again claimed that no one was home, I had proof that they hadn't been! This happened repeatedly until I cancelled the item and got someone stronger to buy it in-store and carry it home for me. Yodel's customer service on this matter was shocking - I was told different stories (lies) by different members of staff, ranging from the standard 'no one home,' to the package being on the wrong van and even the driver not being able to find the address. The delivery drivers of Yodel are lazy and will not deliver a package if they cannot be bothered, despite what a customer has paid to have the item delivered on time. The lies and excuses and lack of apology were the worst part of the experience, as I felt belittled and as though I were being taken for a fool. I will not buy from Argos online again, for fear of Yodel being the delivery company.
