Complaint against Royal Mail

I sell items online and always found hard to claim for lost items with Royal Mail, but at least they used to refund a small portion of item's price. Now they changed their policy so they do not redund a penny as I sell accessories. Why would they not refund a lost hair tie but would refund a lost piece of clothing or any other item? They lost my item, which is their fault and now they are causing me not only negative reviews to my shop when people don't receive their item but also money losses to me as I cannot receive a penny for my lost item due Royal Mail's fault..
