[RESPONDED] Courier lost parcel, not insured so I'm responsible for £180 loss

Complaint against Parcel2Go

I sold my iPhone 5s on eBay, I am disabled and needed to sell it to put it towards buying a mobility scooter. I sold the phone for £180, posted it with parcel 2 go via my Hermes. The parcel looks like it's been delivered to the courier, but then the status hasn't moved in about 2 weeks. They've informed me that they have lost it and can only refund me the postage cost of £3.61 My buyer on eBay wants her money back and I don't physically have it to give it to her. Why is the onus on customers to have insurance when couriers are clearly being negligent and hiding behind their T&Cs

none of p2go staff are screened for criminal records all these items are stolen to order i phones laptops xbox keyboards they have full uninterrupted access to these goods do you remember when sending it you were asked to describe the contents and if you did not disclose them details you cant continue to next page then you have to tick the i agree box and its value that is more than enough for would thief
