Complaint against DPD

I was expecting my new mattress to arrive today. I went off to work, and my partner stayed IN THE HOUSE ALL DAY. The patio doors were open ALL DAY, and nobody rang the doorbell. This afternoon I received an email from DPD saying that they had failed to deliver my parcel as there was nobody in to sign for it. That was clearly NOT the case! The email also stated that they had left a calling card - NO THEY DIDN'T! Because it's a bank holiday weekend, I now have to wait until TUESDAY for my mattress. I am not a happy bunny and will be complaining to the supplier and suggesting they change their carrier. When I tried to telephone to complain, I was informed that the call would cost me £6, and anyway, you don't get to speak to anyone. It's a lovely sunny day today, so I reckon the driver got fed up and headed for home early.
