Complaint against DPD

I have had an absolutely awful experience with DPD. I ordered shoes from an online retailer using a next day delivery service, so I worked from home that day. I received a text stating that my delivery would be with me in the morning. It was not delivered to me at all. A five day investigation was open and on the final day of the investigation I was advised by a member in the claims dept that I was entitled to a refund as DPD were culpribale for the lost of my item, she also sent me an email to confirm the following steps. I contacted the seller in order to issue my refund. However, they refused to do so as DPD decided to change their mind. On the grounds that my item was delivered 13 feet away, I checked with the my neighbours they had not received any items from DPD and the name given to me by DPD was also unknown to my neighbours. DPD has made no real attempt to find my item or resolve this matter. They raised the investigation as a signature dispute and sent me a copy of the signature which was literally just a line across the page, which makes me wonder who it was actually delivered to. DPD have advise me to take civil action against my neighbours who I am on good terms with and known for over five years.... It is very disappointing to be on the end of such dreadful service by a major company. I am now without my shoes and out of pocket. It is not the start to the year I was expecting....
