Complaint against Fedex

Hi My parcel was destroyed after multiple attempts to get it redelivered and now FedEx is taking no responsibility and wont even write back to a case that they set up for me. Please see below for the contents of the email as it explains everything: To Fedex I am emailing to let you know of a quite frankly horrible service that I have received from your company. I ordered a birthday present for my Wife from Turkey with a £50 value. This was subsequently shipped on the 24 October 2015 from Turkey with Fedex. On the 23rd October I had to go out of the country for 2 weeks to South Africa due to the death of my Father. This meant that I was sporadically reachable during my stay. I received an email from the sender of the gift from Turkey on the 3rd of November telling me that I needed to get in touch with Fedex because of delivery problems. I therefore phoned Fedex on this day and told the operator to please change my address and redeliver to the new address. The operator said that was fine. On my arrival back in the UK on the 10th November I had still not received the package. So I phoned Fedex again on the 12th and they said that it would be redilivered in a couple of days. About a week later, I phoned again because the package had still not arrived and I was told that my package had been destroyed. I then phoned the Fedex customer service to complain and see if there was any way that I could be refunded for this and I was hung up on. I am extremely confused as to how a package can be destroyed after Fedex had it for just 2 weeks. These 2 weeks being the exact time that I had been called away unexpectedly due to the death of my Father. I would like to know if there is any way that I can get my £50 back for the birthday present that I bought for my wife? Regards, Alex
