Complaint against Gourmet Society

Got back from holiday to find my card had been automatically renewed. It said I had had an email regarding this over a month ago. I don't remember seeing it in particular. On ringing to cancel as I get a version of the card through my bank I was told this is not possible. I was told that that the email clearly said I needed to cancel if I didn't want the card to be renewed. They have sent a copy of the email but this important information is well down the email. As I didn't realise it was automatic I didn't get a cancellation code. Who on earth needs a cancellation code to stop someone making a charge to your account? I will be writing to Max Turner CEO. The company would not give an email address for him or his PA. This is sharp practice and appears to be well documented online. Wished I had been aware beforehand
