Complaint against Gourmet Society
Seems like I'm going to echo all of the above - DO NOT - I REPEAT DO NOT!!!! SIGN UP TO GOURMET SOCIETY OR TASTECARD (The companies are linked despite claiming not to be - they traced a call I made to tastecard to cancel, yet claim they are not tastecard?) I've wasted countless hours emailing back and forth with "Cara" and on the phone to a woman from "complaints" who just kept repeating my name then her views - terms and conditions and that she "can't" refund me (can, it's a choice!) I recall signing up to (and cancelling) tastecard - but not Gourmet. Nor did I have a card for last year They sent me one through the post and have charged me for it. I was sent a screenshot of a tick next to my email as their "proof" that I was informed of the renewal. They CANNOT provide proof that I ever signed up for it in the first place, nor can they provide proof that I was sent a card last year (I wasn't). Therefore in my eyes, I have not been provided with a service that I have (unwillingly!!) paid for, for TWO YEARS. I'm going to give citizens advice a whirl. Absolute disgrace of a company and customer service. AVOID!!!! DO NOT be sucked in with the £1 rubbish you will end up in contract with them for a lot more! If you have already signed up, contact your bank NOW stop any recurring payments, I have actually cancelled my bank card. Call Gourmet on 01484 411799 and demand they cancel your "membership". So, SO angry with this company.
