Complaint against Gourmet Society
I registered for a free trial with Gourmet Society via o2 priority. Having been promised a renewal reminder email with my order confirmation, I waited to receive this before deciding whether I wanted to continue my membership. However, I did not receive the email (and research has told me that a huge number of customers mysteriously do not receive this). Customer Services confirmed that I had not read the email, and having been back through my spam folder, deleted messages and main inbox, I can confirm the email was never received. When I spoke to Gourmet Society by phone, they were rude, patronising and extremely unhelpful. They refused to take any responsibility for ensuring trial members know they will be charged, and refused to refund my unwanted membership.
