Complaint against Economy Energy
Economy Energy stopped supplying me with power on 15th August 2018. I have been in contact a number of times regarding the repayment of the credit on the account and their operatives insist they did not have the final reads from my meter, they also said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to prepare the final bill, they have said they have not been 'sent them' by my new supplier. When I contacted my new supplier they informed me the meter reads at the time of the swap had been uploaded the industry database, which is the system all energy companies use. Today some 8 weeks after the swap I received gas and electricity bills from them. I made contact via 'chat' to ask when the balance would be repaid to me, to my surprise I was told these were not final bills as they still did not have the final meter reads. They told me that I needed to contact my new supplier to get them to send the meter reads. I telephoned my new suplier today, they confirmed to me that the swap meter reads had been uploaded the industry database, the gas read on 16th August at 14.26 pm and the Electric on 29th August at 14.12 pm and that if they have not got them they need to contact their 'shipper'. I am dissatisfied with economy Energy as they do nothing but prevaricate in order to hold onto the outstanding repayment for as long as possible. Their operatives are lying when they say they do not have the final meter reads, as these were uploaded many weeks ago. I am also dissatisfied that they have still not issued me with my final bill within 8 weeks of the swap.
