[RESOLVED] - Paid final bill then they asked for another £60

Complaint against First Utility

Informed first utility July 2015 I was moving. Final readings given August 2015. They replied stating calculated final bill may take few weeks depending on amount owed and fixed tariff fees. Final bill received end September 2015 for £267.34p. I paid final bill October 9th 2015 settling account and same was closed. On 10th October they request another £60. I emailed them disputing this however they state it must be paid within 7 days or they will take action to recover the £60.

I also contacted CEO of First Utility by e mail. He responded within 24 hours and allocated his representative from the executive office to investigate. She rang me next day and removed the exit fee charges. In future, First utility will add these fees to the final bill and not ask for them weeks later. Resolved satisfactorily. I advise everyone to Google the company they are in dispute with and get CEO contact phone number and email address. They hate being communicated to directly.

First Utility agreed to remove the £60 exit fees. Resolved satisfactorily after I googled their CEO and go his phone number and email address. CEO's must hate being contacted directly.
