Being billed wrongly

Complaint against npower

Npower sent me a gas bill for energy used during 2015. That bill was for £1600. Also added a default to my credit file for non payment. I have a gas pre payment meter which was fitted in June 2013. Npower have added the debt to my meter so am currently paying this debt now. Npower claim they fitted the meter in July 2015. I have sent npower a photograph of the meter showing the date when the meter was fitted and demanded an explanation to why this error has been made. To date nothing has been done.

I have problems with British Gas and have been fighting them for 5 months. What you can do is to look at www.ofgem.co.uk they set the rules for energy companies and in August 2015 a new condition of the energy company licences it says..the code of conduct as part of there licence agreement. It states : Suppliers must behave and carry out any actions in a fair, honest, transparent, appropriate, and professional manner. Tell them you will complain to ofgem & it may affect their licence..jonty
