Sorry Npower and Co-operative customers, but if your tariff ends this month your bills are about to skyrocket.

Each month a new batch of fixed deals end and customers get rolled onto much higher rates known as standard variable tariffs.

Take a look below to find out if your tariff is ending this month.

But by being proactive and switching now, you will completely avoid these hikes.

Let us explain: because your deal is in the final 49 days, you can now switch without exit fees.

Which means switching before February 28 is free AND you can get a new cheap deal before higher rates kick in.

Don't think it's worth it? Check this out:

If you are on the Co-op Online February 2018 tariff then you will be paying an extra £300 per year on a standard tariff.

Meanwhile, if you're on Npower's Online Price Fix February 2018 you will be paying an extra £210 per year.

Don’t see your tariff here?

It never hurts to check and see if you could be paying less for gas and electricity.

If you haven't changed suppliers in more than 12 months there's a good chance you are paying far more than you need to.

And you're not alone - more than 12 million customers in the UK are paying too much.

Find out if you are one of them and get yourself a better energy deal today.

How to check if you’re on a standard tariff

The easiest way to check what tariff you’re on is to look at your energy bill.

If you haven’t switched energy tariff for a year or more, you're probably on a standard tariff - also called an SVT.

But the only way to be sure is to either check your bill – the tariff will be on there – or ask your supplier.

Typically the tariff will have the term "standard" or "variable" or words to that effect.

Watch out, though, because, the SVT might be given a fancy name.

If you are unsure - ask your supplier if it’s their standard rate tariff.
