Scottish Power announce price hike
This is starting to feel a lot like Groundhog Day now - another big energy firm is hiking bills.
Scottish Power has become the fifth energy supplier in a matter of days to announce prices hikes of £117 a year, and it will affect 900,000 customers.
Taking full advantage of Ofgem raising the price cap, Scottish Power are increasing some tariffs by 10%.
This means gas and electricity bills could go from £1,137 to £1,254.
Prepayment meter customers will also see prices rise by £106 (9 per cent) taking average dual fuel bills from £1,136 a year to £1,242.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that you've heard this all before - you have!
E.on, EDF Energy, Npower and British Gas have all decided to up their prices as well.
The move has already backfired for EDF Energy, who've lost a staggering 200,000 customers, apparently due to their incessant price increases.
Don't get stung by these big firms, there may be smaller energy suppliers out there who can give you a great deal.
