Alexis Gillett: 1/5 Stars 03/02/2020 Rude and useless bus driver I needed to go to the doctors and wasn't sure which ticket to get so I asked and said I needed to get to two different places so I wanted a day ticket, the driver asked where I needed to go and gave me the green Day ticket I later found out that I could have gotten the under 25 day ticket, I am clearly under 25 and the ticket he gave me wouldn't have gotten me to both places I now need to buy another ticket to get to my second destination. Once ont he bus I pressed the bell a good 20 meters before the bus stop to get off the bus driver ignored me and went straight past the stop to the next one which was quite a distance from the doctors luckily I want late but I am angry Go North East responded on 10/02/2020: Hi Alexis - Thanks for the message, I'm sorry to hear about what's happened. Bunch of Cowboys It occurred on: 9/09/2019 My partner and I bought our usual return tickets to Newcastle as this is our place of work. Arrived at the usual bus stop to go home at 5.10pm and waited over an hour for the bus to arrive (Along with around 20-30 other patrons). No signage was placed on the bus stop to state any issues and the electronic timetable guide consistently said the first bus, and then the next and then the next was due. However despite numerous others passing this one did not turn up. Called the customer services contact number at 5.30pm and waited on hold for around 20 minutes before giving up. Another patron then informed everyone that the bus was cancelled due to some race that was going on in the city. Called again the following day to raise a complaint and waited another 20 minutes on hold. Eventually spoke with someone in the customer services team who was very dismissive, defensive and rude. Demonstrated 0 interest in my issue and said it was tough luck and not their fault. When I asked why they were so uninterested they hung up on me after telling me I was 'whinging too much'. To summarise the issue: - We should have been informed by bus drive on morning about no service on evening. - bus stop should have had signage stating this. - electronic prompter should not have been stating the bus was due when it was cancelled. - customer service is non existent and a disgrace for a company of your size. This meant that Not only did we pay for 2 return tickets which Go North east could not deliver the service for, we also had to get a taxi home as no other bus runs to our home. Also wasted an hour of our time on the day and a further 40 mins to customer services next day Go North East has not yet responded. David Chambers: 5/5 Stars 28/08/2019 Paul Bradley I've had this driver many times and he's really friendly, funny, caring and chatty. He maintains a professional standard and sets an outstanding role model for beginners joining the company. He always punctual for his bus journeys and he always makes his best efforts to arrive on time. Paul definitely deserves a pay rise or a bonus as you rarely see a bus driver like Paul. Go North East has not yet responded. Chantelle Smith: 2/5 Stars 12/03/2019 Bank card payment Hello I have tried my card various time on the go north east bus. Sometimes my contactless card works on the bus and sometimes it doesn't. Whenever my card has been declined on the go north east bus they it has still charged me for it I would like a refund or something done about this please I have bank statements and receipts to prove my card has been declined and money has still been taken out of my bank and I've still been charged. Tom Fletcher: 1/5 Stars 05/11/2019 Terrible mobile app It must be every week now that the live times given on the mobile app are incorrect and the bus has already been and gone. Ticket pricing is horrendous and it's now cheaper to get the train. The in-app tickets don't show their barcode every now and then which is always lovely when you're trying to use a ticket. Labour has my vote, nationalise the bus service.
