Complaint against Xercise4Less

I have been a member in the belle vale (Liverpool) gym for about 3 years, I have not been in a contract with them during this time.. I originally had a 12 month contract and once I had passed the initial 12 months I continued to pay. I was leaving the UK to work overseas so I went into the branch and told them I would like to cancel my membership, and was advised to do it online. After looking at the online form it asks me to input my W number. I don't have my W number as I don't have any paperwork from the gym. As I was overseas at this time I cancelled my direct debits to the company. Following this garlands finance have sent me multiple letters saying I owe them money due to "failure of payment" despite the fact I'm not in a contact with the gym and told a gym worker that I wanted to cancel. Everytime they send me a letter they add a £25 administration fee and the debt is growing. I spoke to harlands finance on the phone and told them that I work overseas and the letters are going to my mothers house, my father has recently passed away and so my mother does not need this distress. The lady on the phone simply stated that if I fail to pay the money they will pass the issue on to a bailiff, who will visit my mothers property. Exercise for less have not helped me at all and are saying I need to resolve the issue with Harlands finance.
