Complaint against Xercise4Less

I was a member of exercise 4 less and my contract finished ended on February 2016. I was still going to the gym paying £9.99 per month by direct debit. I asked the receptionist about cancelling my gym membership, he told me to to send an email to the main office to cancel my membership and I did so. My membership was cancelled and i was charged an extra £9.99 for another month which is normal and that was in late June 2016. I paid for an extra month and my membership was cancelled. but, i have charged £9.99 in August 2016 because the company has renewed my contract without letting me know , though i have moved to another city. because i was charged extra i had to cancel my direct debit completely. now! i have received a letter saying that i have to pay £34.99 because i have cancelled my direct debit that i didnt know about. i have contacted the company many times and have been told that the manager or the receptionist will DEFINITELY get back to me after so many phone calls i have made to the company, but i haven't received a call from the manager or the receptionist to resolve the problem. I have contacted the Harlands to ask them to explain the matter to me, but they said the manager doesnt want to talk to me and they have to explanation but to ask me to pay the amount mentioned above. after i asked repeatedly to explain the matter tome the Harlands disconnected the phone. i have been asked by the citizen advice bureau to complain and wait for what happens to the matter. thanks
