I tried to cancel my membership at Xercise4less Leeds over a year ago. Sent in an online form, and then rang up and was informed by a member of staff that it had been processed. However, direct debits were still being taken out of my account 6 months later so I cancelled my monthly transaction to Harlands in November. A few months later I received a phonecall from CRS saying I owed over £70 due to outstanding debts. When I rang the gym, I discovered that my membership was in a name that was spelt incorrectly - due to an Xercise4less member of staff inputting my details in wrong. After trying to explain the problems to the membership office, they stopped replying and told me to pay the CRS. Furthermore, they head office tried to deny that they had ever received a cancellation form after the Leeds branch had confirmed they had received the form over the phone only a few days earlier! The company simply don't care about their customers and will do anything to take more money off their members. I really don't want to have to pay more money to them after already paying for 6 months of membership I have not used - but I don't see any other option at the moment as they are refusing to help me and the CRS will just keep adding to the debt.
