Money still being taken out of account

Complaint against Xercise4Less

I joined Xercise4Less Hull, 2 years ago. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member at this gym, until 5 months ago. I tried to cancel my membership and filled out he forms as I was instructed to do. Following the forms which I submitted, I was told that my 'W number' was incorrect. I called the number that I was instructed to call, who then gave me then correct W number. However, after submitting the form with the new 'W number' I was told that I was not on the system and thus they could not cancel my membership, however £9.99 has been taken out of my account each month. I then thought maybe I should attend the gym if money is being taken out of the account, however I was told that I was not able to attend the gym as I was no longer on the system. I have sent countless emails, and phone calls, however I either get no response, or they tell me that they have fixed it... yet money is still being taken out of my account. I cannot afford these charges, and I am told that I cannot cancel my direct debit. I am not sure what to do at this point, and require some kind of compensation in the form of payment. It seems I will have to seek legal action as this is entirely immoral.
