Refund Delay Over 7 Weeks

Complaint against Optical Express

I have now been waiting 7 weeks for a refund of £500 from Optical Express. They have exceeded their deposit refund deadline by 2 weeks and I still haven't received a refund. I've experienced awful customer service and still don't know when I will get my refund. What can I do? I would advise everyone to stay away from this company.

This is an absolute disgrace and your complaint is just one of so many....this appears to be normal business practice for Optical Express and they lie to, ignore, and fob off customers to keep hold of their cash for as long as possible. Effectively they are using customers to fund their business and to bolster their cashflow. This could be an indicator of cashflow difficulties and indeed if this is the case there is an important message here : if this company is experiencing financial..

..difficulties then you could possibly have a problem getting your money back. There have been examples of Optical Express companies put into liquidation where creditors have received nothing. I asked the administrator what happened to customer deposits in this instance but they could not answer ! So my advice is - ask your bank to initiate a refund process as soon as possible - if you paid by credit card you can claim under s75 consumer credit act..debit card has tighter time limits ....
