Refund keeps getting put back, now way over the supposed 28 day peroid
Complaint against Optical Express
My Husband and I booked laser eye surgery on 15/08/2015. we paid 1 deposit for the both of us which came to £395 this was put under my name even though it was my husband that called and placed the booking. We cancelled on 17/08 and was told any refunds would be paid back under the 7 day refund policy. After hearing nothing we called on the 4/9 only to be told no refund was due. a few phone calls later and we were told we would be refunded the full deposit amount within 28 days from the 04/09, at this point we were not told it was working days. they were called again on the 02/10 and at this point we were told it was working days which takes it to the 09/10. After hearing nothing we called again on the 14/10 only to be told there was an "internal error" and it would now be the 22/10. my husband called them back to complain further and they spoke to the accounts team, their best date for a refund was only the 20/10, a whole 2 days this will make it 35 days from cancellation to paying the refund which i find ridiculous and they dont seem to care. i have threatened legal action, hit their twitter today (14/10) and also said i will think about charging them interest. I'm extremely worried that the 20th is going to come and once again we will get a lame excuse and for the date to be pushed back further. i also feel that compensation should be had for going over their OWN 28 day period.
