[RESOLVED] - misleading website link

Complaint against EHIC Direct

The website link clicked straight to the application form and it was only after completing the form, including my debit card details and NI number, that the home page came up which explained that this was not an official website and in fact the EHIC card is free via the official website. The T&Cs state that the request can be cancelled within 14days but that full refunds are not possible, however, again the T&cs page was only shown after the application had been completed and my money was taken straight away. This seems like a con and very underhand, and worryingly this company now has my debit card details, address and NI number.

Dear Vivienne, I'm sorry to hear that you had misunderstood what service you where applying through, however we do not direct customers through to the application page. Our homepage contains part of the application, but is side by side with information explaining our service in full. The company did give me £15 back but kept £10 as an admin fee.
