BBC back down over ridiculous attempt to sack Nick Knowles for appearing in Shreddies ad whilst stars like Gary Lineker make millions on the side

Good news. Nick Knowles has faced down the BBC and will continue to film DIY SOS and be allowed to do his Shreddies ads.

The idiot executives at the BBC wanted to fire him because he wears a hard hat in the ad and felt he was cashing in on the show.

Then the public began pointing out that almost everybody on the BBC is making money out of commercial endorsements and could it be that since Mr Knowles has come from the building trades they looked down on him whereas if you are footballer flogging crisps that is okay.

Nick said;” I have always said that DIY SOS is more than just a presenting job for me, it’s part of me.

“It has my heart and working for the BBC for over 22 years is something that I have never taken for granted.”

If the BBC wanted to save money they shouldn’t pay the stars at all but allow them to commercialise their name through TV ads, books etc. Right now most of them butter their toast both sides by having a show on TV and then getting a load of money through their fame off screen.
