We should sack the idiot JP who didn’t jail motorist with three drink-driving convictions.9/28/2021 If you plan to buy either car or home insurance I wonder if you might look at my small price comparison site A Spokesman Said as we earn a little commission from each sale which helps fund the research and editorial costs of running the site. He already had two convictions for drink-driving when at 7.30 in the morning he flipped his motorhome, a Peugeot Boxer 330, hitting a BMW and blocking two of the three lanes on the M60 between junctions 14 and 13 for several hours. Wagster a 35-year-old tree surgeon, was then discovered, surprise surprise, to be three times over the limit. His explanation for his drunkenness was that he had overdone his partying while away with a friend in Morecambe. Absurdly he was not jailed with the idiot magistrate, known only as Mr Fry, saying; ‘’ You have come within a cigarette paper width of going to jail.’’ What does it take to put a danger like Wagster off the roads? In 1999 he was banned for three years for drink-driving and he got another three year disqualification in 2009 for a second excess alcohol offence. So in 22 years he has been done three times for being over the limit. What more evidence does that stupid magistrate require? We need to be protected and he needs to understand there is a price for drinking and driving. A ridiculous defence was put forward by his lawyer Isobel Thomas. She said he accepted the consequences of the accident could have been ‘’much worse.’’ Really? How insightful. Further, she said, he had been married for 12 years ( what had that to do with it?) but had a difficult time over the death of his mother three years ago. Many of us had mums who had died recently but we don’t go round driving motorhomes while blind drunk. He was given a 12 month community order and will be the subject of an alcohol abstinence monitoring programme for 120 days. He was also ordered to complete 150 hours unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for 28 months. Why only 28 months? Why not 60 months? This is man is a danger to us and he has no rights to be on the road. And that magistrate should be kicked off the bench. If anything he is more stupid than the driver.
