Complaint against Right Choice Insurance Brokers
Took car insurance policy out online and money withdrawn almost instantly. Next day they requested various pieces of documentation. I phoned to find out more but the phone rang out. Provided all the requested information via e-mail but they refused my no claims discount as my current policy hadn't ended. It is standard to avoid gaps in insurance cover when 're'-newing car insurance so why do RCIB have an issue with it? Anyway phoned again to find out what they did accept - again no answer, the phone rung out. Sent e-mail with up to 3 day wait. I had no idea if my insurance would be accepted, and with my renewal date approaching prices were rising, and I had little confidence in RCIB due to poor communication and customer service. So decided to cancel and go with another provider and e-mailed to update them. Finally, they responded and agreed to accept no claims discount but had already gone elsewhere. Charged £85 to cancel and the policy hadn't even started or fully confirmed! Having since read the reviews online, I must say I have had an almost identical experience - phone ringing out, impossible requests for documentation, unusually high charges and I have only dealt with them for the past 10days! God only knows how they would handle a claim! £85 hurt and is unreasonable but I think in the long run it may be a saving!
