Complaint against Post Office Savings
As my mother is infirm and requires 24 hour care, with my help she applied to cash in her savings at Post Office Savings to pay for her ongoing care. By phoning and writing various letters, we were constantly told her savings would be released into her current account, only to find that no money was transferred. This whole process lasted three months before these funds were available. She made an official complaint and was offered a £50 compensation which she thought was insufficient for all the inconvenience and upset caused. She has written to ask the company to review the amount of compensation awarded but has never got a reply.
