Complaint against Zurich Insurance

My son left his family in Mississippi to go to West Texas so he could make a living for his family. I was injured on the job on December 30, 2014. The company he worked for attempted to get him to apply for his short and long term disability instead of filing a worker’s compensation claim. He did not do this because that wasn’t the company who was responsible. My case went to court with all of my medical records being admitted into evidence and he had a witness testify. They found that he had been injured on the job and paid benefits every two weeks; however they refuse to reimburse him for medical bills which were used as evidence. My parents and I paid out-of-pocket for many procedures. My health insurance agreed to pay for some and some providers gave me financial assistance. His doctor has stated he needed another injection yet Zurich found a “doctor” who had never examined me to say that he only had a back strain and didn’t need any of the treatments he received. This was directly opposite the opinion of my doctors, as well as, the opinion of the division selected designated doctor that he was required to see multiple times. His credit has been destroyed and his father and I are in debt due to assisting him and his family. This isn’t right. He can’t get what is owed us and can barely walk. He definitely has a remaining limp, yet they refuse to pay for an additional injection to see if that will help. He will never be able to lift more than 15 pounds and jobs will need to be desk jobs. Our lives will never be the same. I can imagine this company has pushed some people into a deep depression they will never come out of.

Who, exactly, is the team in North America? Zurich has changed lawyers three times in an effort to keep from paying my son’s claim. Therefore, I don’t believe anyone with the company in North America will do anything to assist me. However, I can assure them this mother is not going to give up. My son would have already had give up if it were not for the assistance his dad and I have provided.

The standard reply to everyone seems to be, “Sorry to read that. If you email a name, customer/claim reference to [email protected], I can pass this onto our team in North America.” I am curious, has anyone ever gotten a reply past that?

In the UK we are a regulated sector so we have to take measures to get any complaint into the formal regulated complaints channels. I have passed your complaint to the US team who will be looking into it.
