[RESPONDED] Too Much Red Tape
Complaint against
Staysure
I took out a single trip policy to cover a weeks holiday to Tenerife commencing 6th February 2018. On the day before (Monday 5th February) I dislocated my right hip and ended up in hospital. It was manipulated back into place the following morning and obviously it was impossible to go away. I was able to cancel the hotel at no cost to myself, but put in a claim for the cost of the flights only. The claim pack arrived and included a form to be completed by my GP. I had received a discharge letter from the Hospital which set out in detail the diagnosis, treatment received and all the drugs I had been given during my time in Hospital. Considering that I did not see my GP and received no treatment from him I sent the Hospital letter as proof of my injury. I have just received a letter back from Staysure stating that they want the GP letter completing and sending in. To me this is bureaucracy gone mad just because the information is not on the correct form. Furthermore we are only talking of a claim amounting to less than £200. Another point is that it took them 2 weeks to write making the request for this information. To me it's about time staysure embraced the 21st century, like e mails and text messages. the claim reference is SURE41356
